Online or Live Texas Holdem?

Ronald Norris

There are many players-beginners who consider playing Texas Holdem online to be completely different than that offline. In most case we are right but the reasons of this distinction they name are too far to be true.

It is well-known that online you can’t observe your opponents that makes it difficult to “read? them, as it happens when playing offline and sitting at the table. But in fact most players make a decision basing on available information and taking into account many others circumstances than that of observation.

It is often not so easy to spot a tell from player’s actions on a hand, and so forth, and not all players display such tells. A good player receives the majority of the useful information from betting patterns, position at the table and observing the hands your opponents’ play.

Advantages of Online Texas Holdem

Speed and accessibility are the greatest advantages offered by online poker. It’s much quicker than offline poker. Here you need not to wait for the deck to be shuffled, the deals are extremely quick and no misdeals occur. Almost all actions supporting the game are shortened in time. There is no changing of chips back and forth, no counting of the pot and no waiting for floor managers to make decisions.

Playing online Texas Holdem you may choose multiple tables to play at in order to get more action and increase your overall hourly win rate. Moreover, as the selection of poker variations and games is much greater than in offline one, you have a plenty of choice and it is always possible to find a game to your taste. Besides, online Texas Holdem gives an opportunity to play 24 hours a day from any place in the world as well as sitting at home.

Advantages of Live Texas Holdem

First invented Texas Holdem is supposed to be a social game. And it is the greatest “plus? of live playing. It brings more joy when seeing your opponents face to face and it stimulates more than sitting alone in front of your computer. Thus, players have a possibility to communicate, to get to know each other. They may remain focused easier and take advantage of observing their opponents.

Very often you can develop your ability to read your opponents’ minds through their faces since you can see them feeling restless, affected by a “bad beat? or if their mood is bad or good. In addition, the actions of players are easier to remember if you identify them with living, breathing humans. Also, if you are good enough at spotting physical tells in your opponents, you will find more opportunities to apply this ability when playing offline.

Finally, live game is attractive because it gives such real senses like when you touch the cards by your hand and see the chips stacked in front of you. But even for an experienced online poker player, the first live Texas Holdem game may trickle his nerves.
